Shelving mods

Most popup campers have issues with not having enough space.  A month or so ago, I wrote about my hanging shelf mod.  Today, I put in 2 additional shelves the same way.

Main shelf

Here’s a shot of the original shelf that I installed.  This made use of a section of the couch that was not really usable.  This was a very useful shelf last time we went camping.  My daughter slept on the fold down dinette and this shelf gave her some space to put her stuff and gave her a place for her light so she could read before bedtime.  This is the reason that we decided to install a couple more shelves.

Galley shelf

The first shelf is over the fold down galley.  This will give us a spot to put things like the dish washing liquid and dish towels.  We also came across a basket that attaches to these shelves. I think that this will be the perfect place for the dish sponge and some various cleaning implements.  We haven’t decided on how high this shelf will be when deployed.  That will really depend on if it is in the way when we are doing dishes.

Toilet shelf

The other shelf is above the cassette toilet.  We always camp in campgrounds that have bathhouses.  So the cassette toilet is used for emergencies only.  Because of this, the cabinet has become the resting place for our jackets.  This shelf will hold some light weight items.  We also found some hooks that attach to it and allow a clothes rod to be attached.  The one we bought are for the larger shelf, so we have to return them.  Hopefully they sell a smaller style to attach to this shelf.
