This Spring, my kids asked if we could bring their bikes with us camping. My daughter’s bike wouldn’t be a problem, but my son’s bike is an adult sized bike. So I had to look for a way to carry 4 bikes on the camper.
Dual hitch
I started out with a dual hitch extension. I went out and bought a 4 bike hitch mounted carrier and put it in this hitch. I found that it would be fine with a 3 bike carrier, but the fourth bike would hit the front trunk of the camper.
So I looked around at my other options. I really liked the Sixnall rack, but it was a bit on the expensive side. I have an air conditioner on the camper, so I’d have to get a specific model. The model I would need to get would have cost me over $400. I’m sure that this is a great product, but I just can’t justify the price. Continue reading
